What I love most about Willy Wonka (other than his spiffy manner of dress and general quirky appeal) is the fact his character has so much range. His quotes go from being inspirational:
“Time is a precious thing. Never waste it.”
To hilarious:
“Invention, my dear friends, is 93% perspiration, 6% electricity, 4% evaporation, and 2% butterscotch ripple.”
To just so darn awesome you can’t help but repeat it:
“So much time and so little to do. Wait a minute. Strike that. Reverse it.”
There is so much love in my heart for this character – and Gene Wilder for bringing him to life so beautifully. Also…if anyone actually creates a completely edible room with a chocolate fountain – or as Willy would say “And, almost everything you’ll see is eatable, edible, I mean, you can eat almost everything” – please let me know!
