It’s hard not to think positively when you start your day with a Dr. Seuss quote!
“Outside show is a poor substitute for inner worth.” – Aesop
Okay, so the quote isn’t exactly worded in a way that radiates positivity. Aesop was clearly feeling a teensy bit bitter the day he articulated this one. But I think the reminder to not waste time and energy focusing on things like image is important. Life really is too short to spend thinking “I want to be as skinny as her” or “he’s so successful, I wish I had his life” when we can spend it sharing the wonderful qualities and traits we have each been uniquely blessed with with others. So today, upon Aesop’s encouragement, I make it my personal goal to think of all the incredible people I have in my life and all the inner gifts I have been given and celebrate those fully. I hope you get a chance to do the same!
